African Federation of Institutes of Internal Auditors, AFIIA was created in May 2009 to provide a non-political, unified voice of the members of the African Continent on common issues, to collaborate in a manner which will best serve the interest of all African IIA members, and to promote and develop an effective internal audit profession supported by strong, recognised institutes. AFIIA is an associated regional organisation of the IIA Inc. that facilitate the coordination and implementation of development initiatives by working with its constituent member national institutes to advocate and enhance the profession. To provide a unified voice of the members of (from) the African Continent on common issues, to collaborate in a manner which will best serve the interest of all African IIA members, and to assist, strengthen and facilitate the development of the various national Institutes to promote and develop an effective internal audit profession supported by strong, recognized national institutes. Thus value will be added to all stakeholders in the private and public sectors, by improving risk management, internal control and governance in all organizations.
ISACA, which stands for Information Systems Audit and Control Association, is a globally recognized professional association dedicated to the fields of information technology governance, risk management, and cybersecurity. Founded in 1969, ISACA has established itself as a trusted resource for individuals and organizations seeking to navigate the evolving landscape of technology and data security. ISACA’s mission is to equip IT professionals and enterprises with the knowledge, tools, and resources necessary to excel in the realms of IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity. We are committed to advancing the skills and expertise of our members, promoting best practices, and fostering innovation in the technology and cybersecurity sectors.
The DCRO Institute is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit collaborative educational initiative that brings essential risk governance expertise to the boardroom and c-suite. It is an outgrowth of its predecessor organization, the Directors and Chief Risk Officers group (the DCRO). The DCRO was formed in 2008 as a collaborative effort to focus on the top-level governance of risk in practice. Comprised of leading board members, chief risk officers, and other c-level officers whose jobs included a fiduciary responsibility for governance and risk management, the DCRO brought together the perspectives and experience of more than 2,000 members from large and mid-size for-profit and nonprofit organizations, coming from over 120 countries. That global, practical, collaborative effort continues with the work of the DCRO Institute and via the graduates of our programs.
